Falls behind; kicks self

Doh -- been trying not to forget about the existence of this-here LJ page, but I done did it anyway...

Survived "Independence" day July 4th; man do people shoot off a lot of fireworks around here. Pretty much solid explosions from 5pm to midnight.

There's an upcoming show for anyone in the Bay Area this Friday at the Last Day Saloon, opening for Chub (which has members of Gooferman, the band and theme camp we camped with last year at Burning Man, and will again this year).

Speaking of Burning Man, my work with BMIR (Burning Man's sole official radio station) is starting to heat up. We've been brainstorming of new segments to pre-record for airing at BM, getting our equipment put together, expanding with a second studio building, all good stuff. One guy is putting together a daily half-hour fake news program (a la The Onion) which should be a blast. I'll be doing a daily two-hour show as well as plenty of other work, but this year we're going earlier and staying later so we should have ample time.

In other radio news, I just did a couple radio shows last weekend which were reasonably good. One was at KFJC cross-interviewing Otis Fodder of The Bran Flakes. The second was at Shirley and Spinoza Internet Radio, a small internet radio studio which hosts a monthly show by Big City Orchestra that I participated in. Archives of that second show should soon be available; keep watching this link...

I've been hard at work with new music work, working on new songs as well as new programs. I've written a number of things in the new Reaktor version 5, and also have written my first things in Max/MSP. The new Reaktor is pretty great; I still like it over Max/MSP, although I know there are a few things I have in mind that can't be done in Reaktor (like my idea for a live Thimbletron-controlled video sampler, woohoo!).

Lastly: If any artist-types are looking for warehouse space to live/work in, my friend at the Liminal warehouse in Oakland, CA has a few openings...

And with that, I'm going to dive right back into it...
